Christopher J 17-Oct-2019Absolutely horrible. Extremely misleading and misrepresenting. I was explained to that after I originally contacted Orange Grove dental, they did not take my medicare, then I asked if they took other dental insurance that I had, they didn't know, so they checked in advance of my appointment. The coverage that I had would have covered preventative and basic, however what Orange Grove did was to give me ex-rays and then a panoramic ex-ray and tried to explain that I needed an extraction that day. Another dentist advised me that if it was infected, the Novocain would not be effective. The tooth was infected and abscessed. Then the dentist informed me that they would bill my dental insurance and I would be responsible for the difference. The dental insurance did include cleanings. Instead what Orange Grove Dental did was tippled the price which is illegal and wanted to charge me $200.00 before I walked out the door. I am not paying for anything. Other dentist have since told me that even getting copies of the x-rays, dentist cannot read copies of x-rays and they want their own. I am disputing this $200. you want to charge me, I am also advising my attorney of these practices as well as the State of Florida Board of Dentistry and will file an appropriate complaint. This place is nothing but a money grubbing place of business ready to take advantage of anyone who walks through their doors. I am coping what I wrote here to inform my attorney. It was an absolute travesty and so unrepresentative. You don't find out what the person has in insurance and what they will pay and then hike the bill up and then inform the patient, it will be submitted to the insurance and you may have a small amount to pay after they submit it AND then expect to bill the patient on the same day, $200.00. In addition, Orange Grove Dental wanted to extract an infected tooth that day and charge $250.00 for doing that. Another dentist will not see me for an extraction until the antibiotic takes affect. After describing this episode to a retired veteran who worked in the dental unit of the US military, she referred me to another dentist. First, the other dentist takes my Medicare Insurance where the first extraction is covered for the first year, AND a exam, x-rays cost $40.00 without even using my insurance. Needless to say, I will not be paying $200.00 to Orange Grove Dental. This was outrageous, unethical and totally unrepresentative.
Mary T 16-Oct-2019Wow. Could not be happier. From speaking with Marlene and inquiring about the new Doctor and having all my questions answered I booked an appointment. The in house patient program I had with the previous Group was not only honored the price of my procedure today was a savings of over $100.00. From the previous Group. The Dr. Was kind , understanding and took all the time I needed to make me comfortable. I have PTSD and it flares up at the Dentist. I even got a blanket. I will be returning.
